Cut, composite and export on the board you painted on.

Questions
Is Draft free forever?
Yes. No time limit, no watermark, no account required.
How do Draft and Magerie relate?
One app, two builds, cut from the same commit and released the same day. Magerie has everything. Draft is Magerie with fewer nodes: it leaves out Frames, the video timeline and the code nodes, and keeps painting, filters, generators, materials, on-device AI, selection and transform, subgraphs, flipbook, timelapse and Publish.
What does Magerie add?
Three things. Vector frames, with States for keyframing a layout. A video timeline. And the code nodes: JavaScript, GLSL, Plot, Renderer2D, plus Terminal.
Does Draft keep getting updates?
Yes, on the same day as Magerie. Draft is not an older build, and it never falls behind.
Windows will not let me run the installer.
SmartScreen warns about installers it has not seen before. Click More info, then Run anyway.
Can I open a Magerie document in Draft?
Yes. Nodes Draft does not have are preserved exactly as saved, parameters included. They do not run in Draft, and saving keeps them. Open the file in Magerie and they work again.
Can I sell what I make in Draft?
Yes. Full personal and commercial rights, and your work stays on your machine.
Do I need an account?
Not to download or run it. An account enables auto-update and publishing to your own page. It is free, and it uses a one-tap email link rather than a password.
Is Magerie on sale yet?
Not yet. It is coming to Steam for Early Access. There is no date yet. Wishlist it and Steam will notify you.
Why one-time and not a subscription?
One payment per major version. Updates are free until the next major version, and majors are 2 to 3 years apart. Upgrading is optional, and the version you bought keeps working.
When I buy Magerie, does Draft turn into it?
No. They are separate apps. Buying gives you a Magerie download, and Draft can stay installed alongside it. Both open the same .mage files.
What about Steam?
Draft is on Steam. Magerie follows there for Early Access. Same builds as this page, same version, same day, same price.
Will it run on my machine?
macOS 15 or later on Apple Silicon, or Windows 11 on x64. Native on both, no Electron.
Does it need the internet?
Painting works offline, and so does anything already installed. Your boards are files on your own disk. A connection is needed to download the app, to auto-update, to publish, and for the first download of an AI model (34 to 210 MB each, and not included in the installer). After that the AI runs on your GPU, offline.
Will Magerie add 3D?
No. 2D is the ceiling, by design.
