How pricing works

The way we wish every creative app was priced. So it's the way Magerie is priced. No freemium tricks, no subscription lock-in.

Pay once, own it

Every feature included from day one. Nothing rented, nothing metered, nothing to cancel.

Updates free for years

Every fix and feature until the next major version, and majors land roughly 2 to 3 years apart. Buying now covers the longest stretch there will ever be: all of Early Access, then all of version 1.

Upgrades optional, never forced

Skip any major version and lose nothing. When one earns your upgrade, it's half the going price. Prefer free? Upload a YouTube video showcasing Magerie, and the upgrade is on us.

Local-first, offline by default

Boards are just .mage files on your disk. No account to run the app, sign in only for auto-update. And since nothing depends on our servers, your version keeps working forever.

What Early Access means

Active development

New builds ship steadily and install themselves. What you buy today keeps growing.

Rough edges included

Expect bugs, gaps, and missing features. You're getting the real app while it's still being built.

Your feedback steers

Bugs, requests, questions: bring them to Discord. Early adopters set the roadmap.

Common questions

What am I getting?

Early Access to Magerie at $35, half the $70 launch price. EA is for early adopters who want to support development and get their hands on Magerie right now.

How long will Early Access last?

Until sometime in 2028, most likely. Early Access ends when Magerie is ready to be a proper 1.0, so the date can move, but that's the target.

What happens after Early Access ends?

The price goes to $70 one-time for new buyers. Nothing changes for you: your $35 license already covers version 1 and every update it gets. Nothing to renew, nothing expires.

Will there be a free version of Magerie?

Maybe. We're considering a free version that trails the paid one by a major version or two: the complete app, nothing stripped out, just older. Not decided yet. In the meantime, the 30-day refund makes trying Magerie risk-free.

What happens when a major upgrade comes?

Your version keeps working, and upgrading is optional. For existing users it's half the going price, or free: upload a public YouTube video where Magerie plays a real part (something you made with it, your workflow, or an honest review; critical is fine), send us the link, and the upgrade is yours. No view/subscriber count minimums. Exact steps will be posted when the first major upgrade nears, which is still years away.

Will it run on my machine?

We are committed to supporting all modern Mac and Windows machines. If your machine is less than 5 years old and you hit any issues, reach out and we'll do our best to make it work.

Is my work mine?

Yes. Full personal and commercial rights, and your work stays on your machine.

Do I need an account?

Only if you want auto-update. Magerie runs offline with no sign-in, and your documents live on your own disk. The account is a one-tap email link, no password, used to download the app and keep it current.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. Within 30 days, you can request a refund from this page after signing in. It will be processed automatically.
