Subgraphs from selection

Press Cmd/Ctrl + G with two or more nodes selected to wrap them in a Subgraph. Magerie auto-promotes any unsatisfied or external connections into input and output ports.

Brush shape & grain texture persistence

Brush shape and grain textures embed in the document. Survive timelapse replay across save and reload. A brush from last month replays bit-identically next month. Completes the timelapse persistence work.

Layer-op replay + per-layer checkpoints

Multi-layer recordings replay with correct compositing. Each layer carries its own checkpoint snapshots. Seeking backward through long sessions stays fast, no matter which layer you were on.

See Timelapse.

Lasso transform (Cmd+T)

Press Cmd/Ctrl + T with an active lasso selection to lift pixels into free transform. Drag to translate, corners to scale (Shift for uniform), Enter to commit, Escape to cancel.

Full docs: Selection & Lasso.

QuickShape: hold to snap

Hold the brush at the end of a stroke. Magerie snaps it to a line, ellipse, circle, rectangle, or quad. Cursor stays live, so adjust scale, position, axis before lifting. Confidence threshold in Preferences > Painting.

Timelapse recording

Every Image node can now record itself. Toggle recording, paint, scrub the timeline to replay every stroke. Deterministic replay. Canvas repainted from scratch, no video compression.

User Library: save brushes, gradients, patterns

Right-click a Brush, Gradient, or Pattern node and pick Add to Library. Available across every project. Assets copy into documents on use, so recipients don't need your library.
